Ryan Flynn is a professional artist working out of Merrimack, NH. Since childhood, Ryan has shown to have a unique talent for understanding and producing works of art. In high school, he was fortunate enough to attend Lexington Christian Academy, where he was exposed to multiple methods of creating art including drawing, painting, stained glass, sculpture (both additive and subtractive), and mosaic work.

He continued his art education by graduating from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art and Graphic Design with a Minor in Art History. In 2006, Ryan studied abroad in Florence, Italy where he took classes in painting, art history, and more which strengthened his interest in understanding Renaissance symbolism and philosophy.

Ryan now resides in Merrimack, New Hampshire with his wife and two daughters.

Milestones

  • 1998 – 1999 Ryan attended the Summer Studios sessions at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, Massachusetts where he studied Figure Painting, Sculpture, Anatomy for Artists, and Graphic Design.

  • 1999 –  Ryan studied under a local artist learning the art of woodcut and linoleum engraving.

  • 2004 – Ryan attends the University of Richmond in Florence, Italy. Studies painting, Art Appreciation and History of Renaissance Art.

  • 2006 – Ryan graduates from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell with his BFA in Fine Arts and Graphic Design with a Minor in Art History.

  • 2012 –  Ryan  gains international notoriety for his stained glass window design in the Nashua, NH Masonic Temple, and his career as a Masonic artist takes off.

  • 2014 – Ryan produces his first illuminated Masonic patents to rave reviews

  • 2018 – Completion of the Blackmer Lodge No. 127 murals in Mt. Gilead, North Carolina. Described as one of the greatest achievements in 21st century masonic art, Ryan is put on the world wide stage

  • 2020 – Ryan builds a new upgraded studio at his residence in Merrimack, NH while simultaniously completing a ceiling mural in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

  • 2021 – Ryan works with RW Oscar Alleyne of the Grand Lodge of New York and RW Ken Collins of the MWPHGL of Alabama to create a new portrait of Prince Hall. The painting is donated to the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of North Carolina at the Grand Lodge of North Carolina’s Annual Meeting.
